Educating for the future
The learning journey at St John's honours the developmental stages in a student’s life. Based on leading educational research and the best of today’s technologies, we prepare students for the future by teaching them how to think critically and creatively, how to communicate effectively and how to lead and work both independently and collaboratively.
Educating for the future

The key learning areas
We follow the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) approved curriculum in the key learning areas of:
Religious Education
As a Catholic school we also have a strong religious dimension that runs through all the KLAs and is also formally recognised as the KLA of Religious Education.
St John's students take part in formal Religious Education every day, based on the new Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese curriculum, Encountering Jesus. This curriculum invites all students to consider how the teachings of Jesus Christ can apply to their lives.
Religious Education

St John’s Primary takes a contemporary approach to learning, grounded in leading educational research.
Each day, our expert teachers engage students in experiences that deepen their knowledge, develop their skills, and enhance their understanding across the curriculum.
Our outstanding NAPLAN results consistently exceed national standards, reflecting the exceptional quality of teaching at our school.
As the building blocks for all learning, we have a strong focus on Literacy and Numeracy throughout our learning and teaching programs.

Literacy
From K-6, students engage in dedicated class time to build their skills in English. Our teachers use a wide variety of strategies to develop students' competence in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Our Reading Recovery program provides early intervention for students with literacy challenges. With individualised support from a specialist teacher, children can quickly become confident readers and writers.

Numeracy
Developing core numeracy skills is a key focus of classroom teaching. Our hands-on program engages and challenges students, enhancing their proficiency across all areas of mathematical concepts, including geometry, algebra, and measurement.
The Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) program is available for students with numeracy difficulties.
We offer a varied curriculum that is engaging and relevant!
