We believe that parents are the children’s first and most important teachers and we encourage parents to become part of the leadership journey in partnership with our school.
There are a variety of opportunities for parents to be involved in the school. Some of these areas include contributing to the Parents and Friends Committee, providing support in the classroom, joining in working bees, coaching sporting teams, assisting in the canteen and at carnivals, fundraising and social events, and parent education workshops. Parents have been valued helpers cleaning gutters and working in our gardens in working bees that are held from time to time.
Parents are always welcome to volunteer to work with the teachers in various ways. The most supported parent volunteer programs have been in reading and sporting events. The school is always very appreciative of the work volunteer parents do for the school.
CELEBRATIONS OF OUR FAITH AND LEARNING
Families are always warmly encouraged to be involved in the religious and community life of our school, through celebrations such as Catholic Schools Week, Grandparents’ Days and many other events throughout the school year.
CONNECTION WITH ST JOHN PAUL II
St John’s Primary has a strong partnership with our local Catholic high school, St John Paul II Catholic College, with St John’s students visiting and participating in College events and activities as part of their transition to high school. Some of these activities include our Year 6 student participation in a Year 8 learning project in Term 4.
Together with St John Paul II Catholic College, we are pleased to boast a continuous, supportive and fulfilling Kindergarten to Year 12 education for your child.
